"47 years to the day after participating in the great civil rights march on Washington, I returned to the same space for Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally. In 1963, a crowd of roughly 200,000 filled the "reflecting pool" area below the Lincoln Memorial. Today's crowd packed that area as well as adjacent areas on all three sides. In fact, the throng extended most of the way to the Washington Monument, where the 1963 march began. To me, it looked like there were at least three times as many people at this rally."

I saw someplace that off to our left (in the picture) there is a huge area full of people at Beck's that was full of trees at the time of the 1963 march.
Looks like Beck's crowd was a third wagin bigger.
If I spot that picture again, I'll link it. -

The color photo is looking towards the Lincoln Memorial in the background; you can see the Lincoln Memorial behind the Washington memorial obelisk. Sorry. The two pictures are not the same view. Note that the reflecting pool is missing. Sorry!

Not disputing crowd size - Beck pulled 500,000 easily - the aerials I've seen cropped out the huge crowds in the park south of the trees along the south side of the Reflecting Pool, and the crowds north of the trees on the north side of same - but I don't think the color pic is Beck's event. The color pic looks like it was taken from the West face of the Capitol, about where the Presidential Inauguration takes place, and AFAIK, there were not any dense concentrations of Beck people there Saturday. Leaves on trees, so it can't be an inauguration, so what is going on?

MLK's was taken from the Lincoln Memorial, Beck's from the Washington Monument. Beck's picture covers a greated area, even behind the tree lines, which are the only areas shown in the '63 rallies. It would have been nice to have a picture taken from the same spot for both, so the collectivists would put their heads up their behinds in fear.
And they should. Read First, then realize what will happen. -
