Always delighted to see a careerist sent back to the farm. This could be an early indication of a truly transformative election, however ...

Rodge, do you know if Delaware Dems can cross vote in the primary? Is is possible that O'Donnell was set up for a fall?

Annnnd the Establishment morons just had their temper tantrum. The NRSC will not be supporting O'Donnell in the general election, according to Carl Cameron.

To me, even if O'Donnell doesn't win in November, her victory tonight has to send a powerful message to all the incoming Republicans: There is a surge to the right this year the the RNC has yet to come to terms with. The Tea Partiers are not partisan: We distrust both parties. The new class will have to have heard our roar.

I'm talking at you, Kasich and Portman.

Helly - Delaware has a closed primary, so crossover Dems did not elect McDonnell. I don't know about 'Independents'.

People are po'd at the current crop of R's in Congrefs. Castle was part of that crop, and a career politician.
The phrase that come's to mind is: "Vote the bums out." I'm old, but after seeing Castle on FNC, he should have done what Arlen should have done: retired respectably, a good career done.
From many miles away, *I* think that McDonnell still has a good chance as her opponent is a career pol.
As long as there are health benefits, a retirement plan, etc for pols, they'll stay in the job as long as it is lucrative. Get rid of the bennies, and choosing chairmanships by seniority, and they'll be much shorter 'careers'.
