A Nancy with coiffed hair

UPDATED
Hey, I know this game!
John Boehner (R-Ohio) acknowledged Sunday that he would support allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire for the wealthiest Americans in exchange for extending the cuts for those making less than $250,000 a year.
The game is called "Go Along; Get Along."  I guess Boehner won that round!  Sheesh.

Strategically, it is always a terrible idea for Republicans to accede to raising taxes; any tax, under any pretext.  Tactically, this shows that Boehner has no feel at all for the driving force that will likely make him Speaker.  Teapartiers, which include independents, and some democrats,  are fed up with everything about this administration, and this congress. Class warfare is, if not dead, dormant for this election cycle.  What did Boehner gain with this meaningless gesture? What did he lose?  We need a Tom DeLay running this show; instead we get some Nancy with coiffed hair.

I just saw this New York Times piece, where they too call this a "tax cut"

House G.O.P. Leader Signals He’s Open to Obama Tax Cut

Let's see.  Obama will raise taxes by virtue of undoing a prior tax cut,  but by exempting some of the victims, his media mouthpieces can then signal tax cut!  Recall this Simpson's dialogue, from the episode where Lisa is president.

Lisa: If I'm going to bail the country out, I'll have to raise taxes, but in my speech I'd like to avoid calling it a, "painful emergency tax."

Milhouse: What about, "colossal salary grab."

Lisa: See, that has the same problem. We need to soften
the blow.

Milhouse: Well, if you just want to out-and-out lie ... [Lisa
doesn't object] Okay, we could call it a, "temporary refund adjustment."

Lisa: I love it.

Prediction: In two months, you will hear something you've not heard in almost two years..."reach across the aisle". Death to reachers.

This affirms my decision to never send the RNC a dime. I will just end up funding the election of a bunch of RINO's with the spines of a sea squirt.

HILN - I've refused the RNC and all the RINO organizations for several years now. Enabling McCain to be foisted upon us was the last straw.
As to Boehner's latest "outreach", my position is that I don't want to hear "in a bipartisan way", "reach across the aisle", "tax cuts for the rich", "mean spirited", "fairness" or any other bullshit euphemisms for going down the socialist path ever again. If the Dems "reach across the aisle", you stick an icepick in their hand, if they come across the aisle, you kick them in the nuts. There is no substitute for victory, and the only accommodation a victor in this fight can make is to accept unconditional legislative surrender and Dems resignations.
90 years of a creeping Progressive agenda and subversion of our Constitution must stop now.

Tailgunner, if they come back in twenty years, they'll win this time. They damn near got us this time. They must be stepped on.

It looks like we are heading for Deja-vu all over again with ball-less Repubbies.
Boehner should stop negotiating with himself - he is losing and it's two months until the election.
At the rate he is making concessions he won't have any place to retreat to when the issue comes up after the election.

I think y'all are overreacting. You are reading way too much into Boehner's comments. And falling right into the liberals' hands.

NO....Repubs have yanked that football away one too many times in the past to have earned my trust. The Rinos are still very much in control of the party, and have no intention of giving up
an inch on their pet agendas. If the bastards had any decency we wouldn't be stuck with BO today!
Ad rem...(listening to the voice of Trent Lott as I type...)
