Protection from Shariah! Outrage?

D.C. Police Enforce Shariah Law
What happened in Washington, D.C., should remind us of the peaceful sit-ins of the 1960s. The courts found that the police action removing people from private businesses violated the Equal Protection Clause.

In a series of cases the lower federal courts and the Supreme Court reversed convictions of black and white civil protesters who were convicted under state criminal trespass or disturbing the peace laws when they sat in the “white-only” section of various lunch counters and restaurants and refused to move after having been ordered to do so by the agent of the establishment.

Specifically, an imam from the The Islamic Center called police to remove three women who were worshiping peacefully in the main prayer hall after he told them it was "men only,"  They complied.  Ronald Rotunda's argument in this Pajama's Media story, is that "There are precious little differences between the sit-in cases of the 1960s and the Muslim sit-in cases."  One, the courts ruled, violated the equal protection clause based on race; this one is based on gender.

All this (somehow?) leads me to ponder over this question about gay demonstrations, and church invasions by gay activists.

If gays are upset because the Catholic church won't sanctify homosexuality, where are the demonstrations, and  mosque invasions?  I mean, what the hell?  Shariah law demands their freaking execution!  Someone 'splain, please.

I never figured out why the gays who felt rejected by the pastor[?] of Maytag Mary [SF architectural monstrosity] and then staged demonstrations inside would think their sexual preference was more important than respecting the faith they so wanted to accept them.
In other words, it doesn't make sense to diss the church you want to join... Never mind.

Good point Tom - My guess is that these gay Catholics are Catholic in the same way the left's anti-war veterans are veterans. Not. The real goal, IMO, is destroying institutions.

Hey Anon, I knew exactly what you were talking about when I read "Maytag Mary", I lived in SF for a few years. I think I heard it as "Sister Mary Maytag" or Our Lady Maytag", but I got the ref. Thanks for the smile and the flashback!

It's really quite simple. The gays feel safe throwing a hissy fit at the Catholic Church because they know the Church won't do anything to hasten their demise. It's quite the same reason PETArds will throw a bucket of fake blood on some old lady wearing a fur coat while giving a wide berth to a biker wearing leather.
