Because I don't subscribe to the NY times I tried to do a search which sometimes allows you access to the article. What I found instead was a lot of posts on this topic, and a lot of supporters of the lawsuit. I am sickened.,.

absolute bulls...Parents somewhat responsible, ABSOLUTELY. A 4&3/4yo? Talk about letter of the law and not intent. Case law states those under 4 are not capable of intended negligence, it does not say anyone over 4 automatically is.

But did the story say the woman died of unrelated causes?
A broken hip is NOT necessarily a death sentence for an 80 year old, my father broke his, and he is improving every day. He has other health problems that will eventually do him in but as far as getting around on his feet he is doing very well. - 10/31/10, 9:05 AM

Go ahead and sue the four year old. What assets does he have (not his parents, but he himself?)
You win. Your settlement is two mushy graham crackers, one zweiback cracker, a cup of cold bosco, and a full diaper genie. - 10/31/10, 4:11 PM

He doesn't need assets. He is probably insured under the homeowners' policy.
The adjuster was a fool. The I.Co. should have settled before suit was filed. - 11/1/10, 8:58 AM

Go ahead and sue him.
The kid is already $41,000 in debt and he still has two more years of Obama's crazy spending to push the number up. - 11/2/10, 1:34 AM
