A word about Dalmatians. They are the most delightful of neurotics. My friend had one who was afraid of people with hiccups, afraid of bubble wrap, people chewing gum, the washing machine in the upstairs apartment. Whenever this weird dog was frightened, he would smile and wag his tail. He was SO lovable.
