I grew up watching Red on TV and was SO glad that I got to see him perform live on stage before he passed away...

He was my father's FAVORITE comedian. And who, after fighting WWII, wanted to hear anything less from the people on TV. My Dad wept when this man died, and I can see why.

He had a son who had lukemeia, or something, and took him to Lourdes. The nuns made him an official special intention (along with Cardinal Mindszenty ) during classroom prayers.
