If Verizon would ever get off their fat lazy asses and make FIOS available here in Redneckistan (Calvert County) I'd snap up one these bad boys in a heartbeat. But since I've got their DSL service it ain't gonna happen any time soon...

I understand that Verizon has stopped installing fiber optic in favor of WIFI.

My buddy has a Roku, and he certainly agrees with TRKoF. I picked up a Samsung blu-ray player a year and a half ago, that also does Netflix, Pandora, Youtube, and Blockbuster. Streaming Netflix and Pandora have both been game changers for me. So much so that it always takes me 5 minutes to figure out how to turn on live TV, like today when I'm Watching Fox News for obvious reasons.

I have a Roku box on 3Mb DSL VZ and it works great! I always get 4 dots of quality and often HD unless someone else in the house is on the network.

Plus .. you don't need a computer to watch, just a television and access to a wifi signal.

Note, some men also need access to the wife signal.

You're putting up a brave front, Rodge. I admire that. And I'm not here to gloat; my Mac Mini TV server was fried in a recent lightning strike. That hurt.

Still, the heartache of knowing you could have had a $99 Apple TV just a few days later … it must be crushing.

Why in god's name would I want to pay a $40 cult tax for something that couldn't possibly improve anything ROKU offers? What am I missing.
