It's not blacks that Lincoln's opponents wanted to enslave, it was fellow whites.

Indenture(white slavery)was still common

They advocated to return to the same society as the Romans,
where you could sell your own brother into servitude...
The most obscene attitude ever is that of the southern slavers
posing as defenders of states rights,
which was in fact the elite's right to the free labor
of their fellow people they classified as "non-human".
We see the very same Washington elite
today imposing their "socialist" will
on the population...which is actually the establishment
of a marxist-nazi "nomenklatura" Aristocracy of the southron type. -
