I knew a guy (went through a nasty divorce) who called the local Suicide Hotline. It's been outsourced to Pakistan. When he said he wanted to end it all they got excited and wanted to know if he could drive a truck.

I was a volunteer at a local hospital this past year, during National Suicide Prevention week they were floating an email touting it and a few of the perfunctory dog and pony show activities that they were sponsoring. Obviously the activity committee didn't ask for my input, otherwise we would have seen,..... Skydiving, rock climbing, handgun shooting at the range followed by gun cleaning, para sailing, hang gliding..... etc, etc,
