I'm sure they'll emerge into something

Union born, union raised. I'm assuming the dead people that vote in Chicago are in union cemeterys.

I can't help but point out that "Magna cum Laude" means "With Greatest Honors" and "Summa cum Laude" means "With High Honors." The person writing the article obviously never got close to either and has no working knowledge of Latin whatsoever. If this is a press release from the school district, it's painfully obvious why they are dumbing down. They have to keep the kids at the level of their instructors.

What I want to be sure of is that all the kids get a trophy at graduation so nobody's feelings get hurt.

I thought 'summa' was at the top, highest, as in 'summit', and summa cum laude outranked magna cum laude; that's why we seldom see it used.
