Christmas ain't over 'til the gov't takes your toy guns.

Gotta start 'em young with that "guns are bad and you must be disarmed" propaganda.

You know you've changed over the years when you watch that and think "Boy she's hot" and "I hope she policed her brass."

@toadld -- yeah, me too. Although I was wondering what the shot group looked like and how it takes multiple 9mm hits to accomplish what one .45ACP will do.

Her situational awareness sucked though.

Well even with a .45 acp with the Winchester 230 grain Ranger load in it, I'd be tempted to do two shots and then a finish shot if there was one attacker. It is the old "don't pick up the habit of shooting multiple shots at one" vs. "make sure you have enough ammo for many attackers". Also the "shoot to stop" CHL class bumg vs the "shoot till they stop moving to make sure YOU are safe" argument.

Hmmm ... maybe passed too close to that alley.

She just walked away without bothering with a 911 call. If you are going to do that, use a revolver. No chance of getting a print off a brass case.

@toadold -- Right as rain. At a minimum, double tap. As a rule of thumb, keep shooting until the aggressor stops moving. Ammunition is cheap, my life is dear.

I was pleased that they showed her armed without the handbag (gun's not much use, if it's in the first thing stolen).
I was also please that she fired as she probably practices. It takes a highly trained individual to do much else in an aw-sh*t! situation.
She was clearly strolling off to find a land line to call 9-1-1. No use wastin' good cel minutes on a perp who'll wait until the cops arrive to do the paperwork.

toadold:*lol* too true.

As I watched it, I was thinking how much I enjoyed the sound of the brass tinkling as it hit the ground, Better than any Christmas bells!

You can practic situational awareness and try not to step out the door without asking your self, "Who is going to try to kill me today?" However shit happens, the long periods when nothing happens dulls you. When it does that is when practice saves you."

I prefer the Shoot till I am out of ammo defense. I was so concerned about my life I didn't notice that he had stopped moving, I temporarily lost all faculties due to being afraid for my life I just kept pulling the trigger.

Also helps that I carry 54 rounds over 3 mags on me. I do two taps and then a finisher round. If I carried a .45 or a 9 it would still be tap tap pop. I figure with a 9 I can carry more and I would shoot at least 3 times if I shot once, no matter what the caliber. 3 rounds of just about anything is enough for all but the most drug crazed to keep coming. Also enough for covering fire.

Ah to have a class III tommy in .45 ACP. Idaho is looking pretty good boss.

toadold & anon,
Life is uncertain, carry spare ammo.
I always carry a speed strip for my 5-shot revolver ("safe" areas) and an extra mag for the semi (injun country) .
If you don't put the first one out'a business, the others don't matter.
Besides, if you seriously kill the first one, any others are probably on their way elsewhere, or they'll have to step over the first one to get to you while slipping around in his blood, which gives you extra time.

I was taught "Keep shooting until there is no longer a threat in your sight picture."
