Get a Bosch. Buy the simplest model. Never look back.
Well look around and see if you can find a rebuilt or used commercial dishwasher. New ones are a bit pricey, $2500 and up.
Get the power company to check the voltage in. A friend had the same thing happen. They checked. They were over. They paid for all new shit.
Yes, the Bosch is good.
I am so sympathetic to this gripe. My very 1st laundry machine was a Maytag with mechanical buttons. After 14 years, it broke and I was able to fix it myself with pliers.
Next came a Neptune front loader with electronic controls. My appliance guy gave us a few years of free recall service, but he could never keep it going.
Then I got married and don't fool with laundry anymore. Problem fixed!
Already replaced with the Whirlpool model shown. She reads Consumer's Report which advised against Bosch, LG and something else because you can only get $$ parts through the factory. Having gone through that hell with Sub Zero was quite enough. As far as I was concerned, it wouldn't have been replaced at all. Clean your own stuff after using.
Hell, a toilet THAT wonderful, should just go ahead and take the dump for you.
Course if the government has any thing to do with it, it'd probably be constipated.
Sure Rodger, you'll get your on simple off switch dishwasher right after I find a mobile phone with a dial...

If you do your own repairs and can cross check part numbers, ebay is a godsend. Unfortunately for them, my customers always want it yesterday so they pay out the wazoo for parts.

I think I have that model of dishwasher (without the red 'x's or the switch. Had one dishwasher where the control panel would break every few years.
Have had the same Maytags for almost 24 years. Dryer has had a small problem or two but thats it!

Old Electric Washing Machine
by John Hartford
Well I sure do miss that good old electric washing machine
The one that we ain't got around here no more
And I sure do miss that big round tub and them stompin, swinging sounds
And I miss them groovy puddles on the floor
The new one just sits there in all it's glory on Monday morning
Way over in the corner of the basement going ...(hummmmmmm)
But the old one went ...(weird mouth sounds)
Well I cry when I when I see that
Brand new automatic washing machine
Cuz I'm sentimental for the old machine still yet
Cuz the old one really looks like a real live washing machine
But the new one just looks more like a television set
The new one just sits there a going...(hummmmmm)
But the old one went ...(weird mouth sounds)

Your Highness:
I present for your approval:
http://www.sunfrost.com/refrigerators_main.html
Made in the USA, and I can certainly recommend their products after replacing the ^#$@*}!&{ that was on my sail boat with a Sunfrost. They're the best made refrigerator / freezer I've ever seen of a size you'd want in you kitchen. Best of luck, and Merry Christmas.
May the Lord bless you and yours and lend you his strength to continue your virtuous struggle for liberty in the new year!

My Whirlpool washing machine is 22 years old. It has been the best washer ever. Never had a repair, but makes a lot of noise now. Will sure miss it when it finally gives out.
Yes, I like the simplest machines. Our dryer just quit this year. It only had one setting--hot! Can't get that anymore. The new one takes a lot longer to dry the clothes because hot on it is only warm.

I recommend an attractive Hispanic immigrant with big boobs for a dishwasher. You might even get a rebate and qualify for a grant.
As far as the simple on/off switch. That might be a little more complicated, although I'm thinking you'll figure out the process.
We already purchased new units (Electrolux) else I'd look into the Sunfrost. They're certainly reasonably priced.
I was just reminded of the trauma caused when we got rid of our 25 year-old Whirlpool,
When whirlpools attack!
Don't turn yer back on those fuckers ...
Older appliance repair parts are cheap, and the online vendors usually have extensive online fixit guides.
I've repaired the washer, dryer, and dishwasher in our house ( twice on the washer ). Older stuff does wear, but replacement parts for mature tech items are dirt cheap.
Seriously ... hauling heavy shit on staircases is dangerous. I did it for a living as a teenager.
Either rent a really large walking hand truck, or pay professionals.
D'Oh!
I am glad to hear that MoSup looks like she is 17 again. Good for you. On second thought, bad for you.. Now she will be hunting for those 18 year old boys.
Hey, don't knock those electric toilet thingies. They are fantastic!
I used to laugh at the Japanese for their weird fascination for everything electronic - especially their toilets. Not anymore.
