Renewed Push to Give Obama an Internet "Kill Switch"

AHEM “ In an attempt to stop the frenzied online spread of dissent against President Hosni Mubarak's 30-year rule, not only Facebook and Twitter but the entire Internet was shut down overnight, leaving some 20 million users stranded. [News Dispatch] Unlike Egypt, the United States has a surfeit of providers, so shutting us down will require some brute force, which is what Obama is wanting here.  For those who respond - "but Rodge, what about if we're electronically attacked by China?" -  I will counter with,   "Did FDR shutdown newspapers on Dec 8th, 1941?"  Same deal.
