This reminds me Rodge, do you watch Laura Calder's French Food at Home? I think you would enjoy it. It is on the Cooking Channel, Monday through Friday at 4:30pm (DirecTV; EST).

Mrs Cleaver never wore anything like that when she was in the kitchen. She did wear a string of pearls, tho.
