Wind Farms; O Irony

Feds wind plan may zap Massachusetts
Welcome to a world you largely created Masshats
crushing, suffocating government

Offshore wind farms generally have to charge much higher prices for electricity because their turbines are installed out to sea, dramatically increasing costs. At current prices, offshore wind energy costs about twice as much as land-based wind power and three times more than electricity generated by fossil fuels.

The 130-turbine Cape Wind project, which is expected to cost more than $2 billion to build, will have a maximum power capacity of about 468 megawatts.

Using the Cape Wind rate prices as a model, then full development of the designated area south of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket could lead to a 17 percent rate hike for electric ratepayers, according to calculations by the Herald.

With the money they save from health care reform they can make up the difference.

Drove through the Pass at Palm Springs a few weeks ago; The smog rolling in from LA shrouded the wind mills that look like a giant's play toys scattered about. the Wind farms there look like Dante, HG Wells and G.Orwell all went on a drinking binge... Hell on earth; more than half not operating many partially assembled...Noticed the pass is a natural flyway for migrating birds as well; nothing GREEN about any of it.
Later, looking at the oil rigs off the coast they looked almost picturesque in comparison.

I have seen several of these wind turbines in the past year. They are ugly. and most of the time they are not operating. When they are going they are making a lot of noise I wouldn't want to listen to if I lived around them.

I've been reading about the fun the Scots and the Brits have been having with their wind turbines. The coldest days have been clear with no wind, hence no power. They also freeze up so you have to heat them, The money they've spent on those toys is starting to be seen as pretty much a waste of money that would have been better spent on nukes or even coal fired power plants.

Just wait until the first whale suicide attributed to depression caused by the constant low frequency hum of the turbines.

e-C your mission should you choose to accept it, is to blow them up. This message will self destruct if you're caught and decide to squeal instead of biting down on the capsule you were given during basic commando training. Your Mister will be provided for.

Didn't mention shredded birds, or interference with navigational radar. I hazard a semi-professional guess that actual delivered output will significantly less.
