Use a SMALLER caliber weapon, at least!
SHEESH!
Spray-n-pray just doesn't cut it with varmints.
Could I be Barn Army Vetrinarian, for a reasonable "donation" to the Armament Fund, of course?
Here in the DC area, PEPCO got so many complaints about outages that they've begun a reliability initiative. Mostly, that's meant trimming trees, but they claim there's more to it.
Funny thing is, MoSup noticed one of the trucks was hauling a load of wood chips, from tress that fall on wires. She asked what they were going to do with it, and the guy says "do you want it?" She did, for the community playground area. They followed her over there and dumped it. She saw two dead squirrels in the pile.
The dogs will take care of those.

A couple years ago, we lost power for 4 days for Thanksgiving and the surge blew up both the computer and modem. Followed by 6 days without power for Christmas with 2 feet of snow. Electric heat, and the pellet stove doesn't work without power either. So I installed a stand-by generator and gen-tran from Costco. We haven't lost power for more than 30 minutes at a time, since then. I guess it was money well spent. Lol
I live way out on the end of a transmission line - there are two more houses after me. The power goes out here any time someone sneezes. Since there are only a few places here we're always on the bottom of their to-do list. I always keep my mp3 players charged up.
