Reminds me of the story my late aunt used to tell on my late mother.
They were at a rummage sale[that's what they were called then], and my mother bumped into my aunt. She turned and said "Oh, please excuse me. ... slight pause... Oh, its you"
As in, she didn't have to apologize to my aunt, but she did to everyone else... u figgur it out.
