It seems there are only two mistakes to be made here, to give the emperor what he wants, and to be perceived to be unwilling to give the emperor what he wants. Let's see how it plays out.

We have to vote for the bill, so we can find out what's in it. What incipitant bitch said that?

I think things are even worse than they look at first blush... here's a bit from Market-Ticker that says we've already been sold down the river.
"We're talking about chicken**** here folks - these "cuts" are not real, they are all "reductions in planned spending increases."
Boehner and McConnell are both a lying sack of crap - there are NO actual spending cuts on the table by either party. The entire Rethuglican party is a bunch of damned sell-outs."

Bottom line is, the Stupid Party almost always loses out to the Evil Party. And now it looks like they're both going to the Evil side. And can Boehner be trusted? Not by me, he can't. Methinks he's a RINO squish.

BONER - the New Bad Bitch on the Hill.
The single horn, low on the snout and short on fortitude, a RINO whimp.
Republicans have a history of giving up when they are losing and giving in when they are wining.
Maybe if that horn was longer and well positioned this leader would have a backbone.
A Mudgeon from Texas
things could be worse. at least boehner is a successful businessman, not some g-damned shameless freeking ambulance-chasing spree-spending attorney like 95% of congress. remember, he is dealing with a lawyer/liar in the white house and most of his colleagues are lawyer/liars. well, then there's my revered hero lt col allen west.
I think the best thing is to tell Obama to go get screwed and pass a bill to limit all white house travel funding to a bicycle. One week with the Wookie would have Obama to agreeing he is the reincarnation of Hitler.
I'm thinking the Republicans will do the usual thing, which is to bend over and ask for another.
The GOP has passed 2 deficit reduction bills this term - namely, the Ryan bill and CCB.
The House doesn't need to pass anymore budget legislation.
McConnell needs to work on Democrat Senators who are up in 2012 (around 23 of them I believe) to try to get from 46 to 51 on CCB.
The GOP only gains strength as time draws nigh.
But Boehner, who fancied a "Grand Bargain" 2 short weeks ago (before he realized what the response would be among conservatives) is so politically short-sighted and morally compromised that he thinks another sellout is the logical solution.
That has certainly been the case during the period in which this $14,30000000000000000000000000 debt has been incurred.
Obama can't do anything without the GOP-controlled House and the House can do anything without 100 or so conservative members.
I hope that they voted down any garbage their titular leader tries to sqeak by at this late juncture.
