Tea Party Hobbits versus Gollum McCain ...

Tea Party Hobbits versus Gollum McCain

Gollum McCain
This week Senator John McCain lashed out at fiscal conservatives during a debate on the debt ceiling, quoting a Wall Street Journal editorial that denigrated "the tea-party Hobbits" who "could return to Middle Earth having defeated Mordor." But at least Frodo got the job done, which is more than we can say for the budget wizards in the Senate.

Anyone with a literary bent would never use the term "Hobbit" as an insult  [continue]

An excellent share, thank you! And I agree with all of it including “I'd rather be a Hobbit than a troll.”

If that PS is yours it too is great. Just enough McGollum to be appreciated.

McCain's opponent in the last election, J. D. Hayworth, never mentioned McCain's backstabbing of investigators and families looking into the possibility of living POWs still in Vietnam. He had been highly insulting to them.

The author of the unconstitutional McCain-Feingold, and one of the Keating 5, he should have been vulnerable. But Hayworth was a poor candidate.

McCain needs to resign.
He does not represent the majority of Arizonans.
and yes JD is a poor candidate. I wish someone else would step up. I asked retired Marine Colonel, Buzz Mills to run, he would be great, but he is doing the Lord's work at Gunsite, training good folks to defend themselves.
He offers several FREE veterans classes each year.
An hour ago Paul Gosar was a yes for Boener's bill, 10 minutes ago he's re thinking his vote.

You know what sailors call the guy who graduates at the bottom of his class at Annapolis?

Sir.

Skoonj, I hate when people say things like that. It amounts to shooting your own wounded. JD is a solid guy, and one of us. It's hard for a former congressman to run statewide against an entrenched incumbent.

Casca, JD is a POOR candidate he has made some poor choices, like doing commercials for scam artists, and being a pork-aholic while in congress, so many better folks in Arizona to fill those shoes. I like JD as a radio personality and sports caster, but we need someone better as a Representative.I hope Jeff Flake wins Kyle's seat .

I'm all for a better candidate running. I just find it viscerally grating after the fact to say that there was something wrong with our guy. Hell, there's something wrong with everyone.

It was a known problem BEFORE the primary. I STILL voted for him as the lesser of to weasels.

Former NY Rep. John LeBoutillier, who had a part to play in the POW issue (and during the campaign wrote an article on it appearing in Breitbart), was deeply disappointed Hayworth missed the opportunity to bring up the issue with McCain.

It wasn't as though Hayworth wasn't aware of it. A friend of mine made sure his campaign was informed. It was a choice Hayworth made. A bad one, like the commercial he did and several others.

It will be another five years before McCain is up for re-election agan. He may not run, or he may face a better opponent. In any case, I hope he's gone.
