Romney rejection of debt deal stands out in
Republican presidential field
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R) opposes the
debt deal struck by President Obama and congressional leaders over the
weekend — a stance that stands out from most of the GOP presidential
field.
Romney emerged after weeks of silence to oppose the compromise measure
that would authorize a two-tranche increase in the nation’s borrowing
authority in exchange for up to $2.4 trillion in deficit reduction.
Sarah
Palin knocked presidential candidate Mitt Romney for waiting until the
debt-ceiling compromise was a “done deal” before speaking out against
it.
“Bless his heart, I have respect for Mitt Romney, but I do not have
respect for what he has done through this debt increase debate,” she
said Tuesday night in a Fox News interview.
THE
HIL's patrons — who read past the lede — soon discover the facts
hardly live up to the title's premis. |
But with the exception of Reps. Michele Bachmann
(R-Minn.) and Ron Paul (R-Texas), who oppose raising the debt limit
under any circumstances ... .,
Until
Sarah Palin, and possibly Rick Perry get into the race, Michelle
Bachman is the only legitimate choice we have right now.
Legitimate to those of us who demand positive and REAL change in government,
anyway. (Sadly, even Herman Cain appeared
to flip-flop mid-stream on this issue)
