And to top it all off we will have a US naval ship, LPD 26, commissioned as the USS John Murtha. One google heading reads "Ship to be named after disgraced ex-Marine John Murtha." Just lovely. As far as I know not one complaint from the navy flag ranks.
Lo siento, the above should have read "to be" commissioned.
Wait until the USS Slick Willy (CVN-80?) and USS Barry Soetoro (CVN-81?) take the seas.
Those two ships will be floating casino/brothels, not carriers.

Don't they have to be dead first before the ships are named?
Can't be all bad when you think of it that way.
It's a nice sentiment, but no, they don't need to be dead. On the upside, no worries unless the commissioning takes place in the next year and a half. Flag officers aren't in a position to "speak up", however they are in a position to drag their feet.
These are the same folks that commissioned the USNS Cesar Chavez this past Spring. It's time to hang motherfuckers.

Hell, I hated the idea of the laundry ship USS Mondale!
