That quote just knocked me flat on my ass. Kudos to the unknown author.

On the subject of proving citizenship - a fellow in Utah faked being an illegal immigrant to avoid prison time:

Would that be the same gummint that demands the drive-through clerk ask for ID but allows me to vote on the strength of my word?

That quote is often attributed to myself. It is actually a translation of "This government has its head up its ass and no I wont press 3 for English".

Went into a gas station today for a fill-up. I gave the guy my gas company credit card and he asked for photo id to verify the card. He said the gas company was now requiring it. But I don't need to show identification to vote. I guess this just shows that the oil company is a bunch of racists, right?

Wrongo Walto. The gas company, a private enterprise, just wants to be sure it gets paid. It doesn't have the power to print money, ad infinitum.
