Coming together, some violently

Sigh Hoes in the Outfield

Nobody I fear is more cynical than I about this year's election.  Don't want to be; just am. So, these two suggestions from readers struck a cord.  Original, proactive, and all-American; they are keeping with the spirit that made us a great people. Clap calp clap.

From Tom Smith

I am getting this feeling that the two political parties and candidates believe that the tea party is dead or inert. I suggest that we donate to these candidates in denominations ending in "6".. $6, $16, $26, etc. Let them know that tea party dollars are out there.

Back to the martini lunch.

From cuzzin ricky

This year's election will decide the next President of the United States.

The person elected will be the president of all Americans, not just the Democrats or the Republicans.  To show our solidarity as Americans, let's all get together and show each other our support for the candidate of our choice in civilized fashion, Democrats and Republicans alike.

If you support the policies and character of the Republican party, please drive with your headlights on during the day.   If you support Obama, please drive with your headlights off at night.

I see IBD is recommending that no matter who gets the nomination, they should pick West as VP. deja vu anyone?

I kinda was waiting for that seeing as how Marco doesn't want to get anywhere neat this train wreck.

As long as conservatives continue to get the false dilemma of either the shit in this hand or the shit in the other hand, we are going to get GHWs and his reincarnation for E-VAH.

After Romney gets crushed this year, look for (a) Jeb Bush (type) in 2016-yaknow, an ex gov with a latina wife with "sensible" views on immigration and tax increases.

There's not enough time this go around for a new, conservative party, but when the horror of another 4 years ahead of this nightmare sinks in, I believe there's going to be millions and millions of us ready to do it.

In the meantime, we're going to get sunsetting of the Bush tax rate cuts, ObamaCare will be impossible to end and only God knows how many more Kagans and Sotomeyers there's going to be.

Bleak enough scenario for you?

MM - Add to your bleak list the UN Small Arms Treaty working its way through that den of corruption on the East River. The 'conservative' House will have no say in the matter, and when the Reid Senate approves it this summer, it will have the stature of a Constitutional Amendment. ASAP thereafter, Uhbama's Gestapo will be at your door demanding all your semi-auto weapons.

Presidentin's important, sure, and we gotta get Obama out, but right now it looks like there won't be a conservative to replace him. Personally, I'll take a competent, pro-American president as a temporary, emergency repair.
That means it's even more important to get a conservative legislature to rein-in Executive-Branch power and subversion. Every two years we get to re-enforce that, even adding to Senate conservatism.
We don't have a one-shot fix. The country must, as it has in the past, slap itself in the face and get it's friggin' act together.
The goals should be constitutionalism, security, and thrift (same things, actually).

I agree Doug (there's no conservative). But I see this as our last best chance to (try to) fix it, and I do mean last chance.

And don't forget the next Prez will prolly name a supreme court nominee. We are already in deep doo-doo there.

How 'bout we donate only in increments of $17.76?

Actually, $17.73, but who's counting?

Getting rid of 0bamacare is the most important issue. And if it isn't repealed before 2014, it will never be repealed.

There's no doubt in my mind that the (R) will win, but if it's Romney, he won't repeal it. Oh, he'll make a show of trying, but it will be only that--a show. And in the end, he'll fail. Because that's what he wants.

And the majority of (R)'s in congress will pretend to be upset and vow to continue the fight, but the rhetoric of repeal will soon be replaced with attempts to "make it better." Because that's what they want.

And this country will continue its transformation into just another Europe.

Snackeater ... You have no doubt that Rambler will win? Whoa Nelly.
Go read the WSJ online piece by Henninger. Alla the smart-heads cheer and clap at his speech.
And Rambler doesn't care about poor people.. THAT will be echoed for the next 7 months...
