Reminds me of the Son Tay raid--only in that case it didn't work out so well. Planning and rehearsal wented on for 6 months and by the time they finally pulled the trigger, the prisioners had been moved.
And I can't remember: in 1943, did FDR carry on and on about his involvement with the top secret operation to kill Admiral Yamamoto--the mastermind of the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor? I mean, is this something all liberals do or is 0bama just a narcissistic ass? - 5/6/12, 4:23 PM

Loathe as I am to say Teh Won did something right, it might have made sense to let OBL sit and communicate with future targets to exploit all available intelligence. When OBL's usefulness as an intelligence source was exhausted, THEN pull the trigger at the most politically advantageous time. (Once the Valerie Jarrett vs. SecDef battle was over.)
But having to be dragged in off the golf course to watch the operation go down is disgusting. - 5/6/12, 5:24 PM

A lot of people suspect that the timing of the Bin Laden raid was intended for one purpose only. To knock any discussion of Obama's newly released "birth certificate" out of the news cycle.
By the time people quit talking about Bin Laden, no one in the media was willing to discuss what looks to be a fake document. The Bin Laden story had sucked up all the available media oxygen. - 5/6/12, 5:44 PM

I'm not surprised. Putting aside politics and looking at just the person (I can't give him credit for being a man), Uhbama is the most cold, cowardly, lazy, narcissistic, untrustworthy, bumbling phony who has ever held the office. BJ Clinton looks good in comparison, and he was a bullshitting whoremonger.

If I remember correctly, a major contribution to the failure of the Son Tay raid was that Henry Kissinger, at a Washington cocktail party, told the Russian ambassador what we were about to do.
Hemp rope, anyone?
Agreed--BJ Clinton had higher moral standards and Jimmy "Peanut Brain" Carter was more competent.
