SHERLOCK

   At The Cinema

SHERLOCK

Series Two of "Sherlock," the greatest series ever made (alas, just three 90 minute episodes per series), is now available on NetFlix.   Bringing the iconic detective from the late 19th century into current day 21st century is so well done that I find it  more appealing than the original.  Great, great fun.

Not Doyle's Sherlock, but a great series on its own.
Somewhat painful for us SH purists, but wayyy too much fun to carp about.
I just wish they'd title it something else. Like, you know … Great Grandson of Sherlock and "the woman."
Hey, at least there's no female playin' Watson in the series.

Just saw a trailer for the Hobbit and Dr. Watson is Bilbo Baggins. My wife gets to me watch Masterpiece Mystery (I know, PBS) and this is one of my favorites.

My favorite Holmes is the Jeremy Brett series.

First, Lara Pulver as Irene Adler in this series is sexy beyond belief. It may be a product of these modern times that the role can be played with such drenching sexuality.
However, the "Baskerville" that follows this is pure lefty nitBrit tripe. The bad guys are the industrialists of course. Screw you Beeb for setting me up and turning around to knock me down.

Finally, I see CBS is doing a modern "Sherlock" with Lucy Liu as Watson. Looks absolutely horrible and I generally love what Lucy Liu does.

Thanks for ruining " "Baskerville." How do you know it wasn't a Soros enterprise??

I apologize for ruining it but I did save you from wasting your time on one clinker of an episode.

"The bad guys are the industrialists of course."

LOL What a fantastically retarded comment.

The bad guys were a government scientist and a Gay couple running a boutique B&B. This narrative couldn't possibly have been less PC. Even the stereotypically evil genetically-altering, animal-testing researcher was positively helpful. Oh yes, they were actually using Lefty bias as misdirection and you completely missed it: As though you were dosed with the H.O.U.N.D. drug, psychotically recoiling from your own imaginary monsters.

I might add that anybody claiming the Irene Adler character is "sexy beyond belief" hasn't experienced enough sex to establish credibility on that topic either.

Another good call, Rodger. Jeremy Brett was excellent, but this series is even more compelling. It also streams free in HD on Amazon Prime. Lavish production + punchy short story = very satisfying entertainment. I'll make better movie snacks for the 3rd episode tonight.

"Fantastically retarded?" No, just a failure of memory.
And you are dead, dead, dead wrong about the Irene Adler portrayal. Possibly fantastically retarded in that regard.
