Michigan Bombs Unions!

Obama's Brown Shirts

Today's Equivalent of the Raids on Schweinfurt
Another state gives individuals the right not to join a union.

Worker Liberation in Michigan

You can tell this is a big deal based on the fury of Big Labor's reaction. Union activists plan to descend on Lansing Tuesday to protest, including many from out of state. State police will have to be on duty to ensure that legislators can get through what is likely to be a loud and abusive cordon of activists who want to block the vote.

This thuggishness is a deliberate and familiar union political strategy: Cause as big a ruckus as possible in hopes of making right to work seem radical when it's already the law in nearly half the country.

Truly, unions are the ball bearings of Obamunism.  Get ready for Wisconsin II.

HA! My brother is going to that protest. He's a union member. He's not goonish like most of them though. He put on his facebook "going to protest the right to work FOR LESS"... I resisted the want to comment that working for a bit less (if that really happens) is better than NOT WORKING at all. I have to deal with them at Christmas so I don't start fights. I'm the ONLY non commie in the family.

I wonder how many of the useful idoits and fellow travelers have any clue what's in store for them. IF/when the left has enough power that the ballot box is unnecessary they will suffer the most because they no longer have any value. Will lawyers be allowed to sue doctors into bankruptcy under Obamacare? Will union memebers, their dependents, and retirerees have a seperate system? It's gonna suck but it might be fun to watch!

Unions used to be all "Let the voice of the workers be heard!" until workers started voting against them. Then the unions reverted* to being thuggish Brownshirts.

*yes, reverted.

Interesting interviews with some of the police called in. "Of course we are hoping for a non-violent demonstration, but we are prepared to use tear gas." He said polishing his baton with a mirthless smile.

Uh, wouldn't the cops be union, too? Not that they would refrain from busting some heads just on general principles anyhow...

Polishing his baton. That just sounds wrong. Unless we're talking about the hickory shampoo.

Cops and firefighters are exempted from this law. Why? They don't deserve special goodies - what is good for some is good for all. This is a long time coming and I am glad to see it happen in Michigan finally. It is fairness AND REAL reform! Now if we could just get the chump in cheef to shut his piehole and perhaps if he and the wookie would just go to Hawaii and stay the hell there???? You do know they have an active volcano there don't you ???? And they used to sacrifice....oh yeah - that is illegal isn't it??? Nevermind.

One of the papers had some interesting data about "union representation".

Seems as though the MEA (Michigan Education Association), teachers union, only spends 11% of their dues collected for Collective Bargaining, but they still charge the members who don't wish to participate in the political actions of the union 90% of the standard dues.

It looks like they got their numbers backward.
