Pass Assault Please

Merrily has the Ruger comparison on her Facebook.  It reminded me of a similar post I did several years ago on Free Republic, I think.  Here's me in the early twentieth century holding my dad's old Stevens .22 semi-auto.  It held somewhere around 18 .22 shorts, or 14 .22 longs as I recall.  How does this become an assault rifle, according to Sen. Feinstien?  By lowering the front end, adding mud flaps and  "spinner" hubcaps.  You stupid twat.

Is this a valid argument.  Indeed.  Do valid arguments— about anything—hold sway with Liberals on a mission?  Nope.  Which is why we need more of these "assault rifles" in the hands of people with functioning brains.

The second is more scary than the first. First we ban the scary stuff, and when we are feeing better, we'll ban the less scary stuff.

A couple of things come to mind. My first weapon, at about 13 was a Ruger 10/22. I put thousands of rounds through it, and learned marksmanship. The truly vicious variant is when you saw the barrel off, and the stock, add a couple of those 100 rd mags, and shoot up a post office, like that guy did in OK or thereabouts a decade ago.

Very good trigger discipline for a youth of that era.

Like calling a fiberglass body on a VW frame an exotic Italian supercar.
