Thomas Sowell will never be asked to be on anything PBS airs. He is way too conservative for them. any body that keeps Gwen Ifill on the air for so long is extremely suspect. Ifill is almost as bad as Candy Crowley. The key word here is "almost".

Sowell is one of many wise or talented minds whom I'd much rather read than listen to. On average I tend to agree with over 90% of what he comes up with.
Ditto for Coulter. She's basically nothing more than an entertainer and bookseller. She does the conservative cause no good whatever with her appearances on TV, but I buy nearly all her ideas wholesale once I read them and shitcan the snark and ad hominems.
Barnes is another one whom I often agree with but don't like to watch speak. And Krauthammer is dead spot on over 95% of the time; it's just uncomfortable sometimes to watch him live (for entirely different reasons than Coulter and Sowell, et al.).
Limbaugh . . . oh, jeeez, how can anybody be so damned right and be such an asshole about it. And Beck is even worse than Limbaugh in blowing things out of proportion and using flawed arguments.
Of course without them the propaganda wing of the liberal party (AKA the mass media) would be completely unchallenged, unrestrained, and unaccountable and we'd have seen the Bill of Rights circling the bowl much earlier. - 2/4/13, 1:35 PM

Thomas Sowell is over 80. He has expressed no interest in speaking to people unprepared for or incapable of honest intellectual exchange. Where do you find that on TV?

People that watch most TV are looking foe Honey Boo Boo. Dr Sowell makes their feeble brain ache.

Thomas Sowell actually was on a PBS program, though it was some time ago. He was a panelist in Milton Friedman's Free To Choose series. As an aside, he went to the same high school my sister went to, Bronx High School of Science.

By the way, the Free To Choose series featured many people we have come to know over time. Michael Moore, for instance, was one of many Friedman skewered. The interesting thing there was that Moore was a skinny kid. I mean SKINNY!
