More Hollywood Agitprop

How John Kerry Won, Then Ended The Vietnam War
Coming soon to a theatre near you.

Remember The Distinguished Gentleman (1992)?  Where Eddie Murphy conned his way into congress, but soon discovered that some crooked Republican congessmen were using  their Committee Chairs to blackmail  corporations into 'cash donations?

AHEM
In 1990 a democrat staffer named John L. Jackley wrote Hill Rat, a book that exposed the cavalier attitude most law makers have about ethics. Using terms like "The Favor Factory," and "The House of Lord s," Jackley revealed how whenever members of John Dingell's Energy Committee needed campaign cash, Dingell would simply hold hearings on legislation -- any legislation, it didn't matter -- which resulted in lobbyist money pouring in -- from both the pro and con camps!
The Distinguished Gentleman

" Initially, the lucrative donations and campaign contributions roll in, but as he learns the nature of the con game in Washington D.C., he starts to see how the greed and corruption makes it difficult to address issues such as campaign finance reform, environmental protection, and the possibility that electric power companies may have a product that is giving kids in a small town cancer.

In trying to address these issues, Congressman Johnson finds himself double-crossed by (Republican) Power and Industry (
Energy and Commerce Committee) chairman (John Dingell) Dick Dodge. Johnson decides to fight back the only way he knows how: with a con. Johnson succeeds and exposes Dodge as corrupt. As the film ends, it appears likely that Johnson will be thrown out of Congress for the manner in which he was elected".  Wikipedia

WTF? Remember this was in 1992, two years before the Gingrich led revolt  ending 40 years of Democrat House rule.  The movie villain Dick Dodge in real life was Democrat John Dingell.  There are tons more instances of Hollywood portraying Republicans villains with recognizable traits of real life Democrats.   Here's one ( The Double 2011) that I started to watch last night.

Synopsis - The Double
Retired CIA agent Paul Shepherdson joins young FBI agent Ben Geary to track down a Russian assassin who has seemingly returned after the Cold War. Old conspiracies quickly resurface, embroiling the pair in deeper and deeper peril.

After an opening sequence where Russian agents kill, and assume the identities of Mexicans trying to sneak into the USA, we segue into a Meet The Press style interview..

Democrats are famously
stalwart  and vigilant in the
fight against Evil-Empire
Communism.

He goes on to warn that
the commies  just launched
three new attack subs ..
We need to meet this threat
with deterrents.

Well Sen Darden, why have
you been blocking defense
issues?

Because Republicans don't give
a shit about phony Red Scares ...
We want money ...

There's no longer any distinction between television news and Hollywood, but their chutzpah still invigorates me. It's a full time job cutting through all the PSYOPS and agitprop, and most people don't have the time or inclination.  Of course there's a good deal of stupidity involved as well.

It bears repeating that the mind of a liberal is incapable of understanding anything above itself, thus they can only project themselves onto anything. Makes it easy to know what they're up to. Just look at what they're accusing others of being or doing. -- General Petty Officer 5th Class Skyhawker Doug
