Sleeping with the enemy

Oh My

I have in my grubby little  hands an Apple iPad; compliments of my son Hucker  (Father's Day).
This is all I can do right now.

You know what they say, Rodger. Once you go Mac, you'll never go back.

Rodger, you know I'm on a Mac - you got one of those doo whakys that tell OS used and everything..Are you NSA?...nevermind. Point is, the iPad baffles the shit out of me. iOS is a whole new mammary. But,I will prevail. Downloading Norden Bombsite App now.

Are you watching me type this? I'll put pants back on.

I have to say that there is a bundle of arrogance built in. Not even directions on who to turn it on included! And, no, it is not all that intuitive. But I am a damn sight smarter than this contraption after wrestling with Windows all these years.and I will prevail. It is a cute little thing though.

All I can add is, if you've worked with Android, you'll appreciate Apple.

All I can add is if you like falling in line, lock step, like some brown coated plebe, you'll like Apple products. Apple where socialistic thought meets technology. "It's yours but we control it"

I own both a macbook (the white, older version - still works fine) and an IPad. I thought the IPad was a bit of a toy, but I find that it's my go-to device when traveling. Lightweight, jacks into any network available, and I've loaded some offline, low-cost apps that work for me (Lesson Planner and IAWriter - together, about $3).

With a separate keyboard, the IPad is ALMOST the only machine I need. Since I do a lot of writing (and need some formatting options), I still use the MacBook. I'm torn whether I'll replace it when it dies - the newer OS will run IBooks Author, which I would REALLY like. If that app ever comes on the IPad, I might just buy a netbook, instead.

But, the IPad stays. It's not that different from other tablets, but it works.
