Before peeling, insert a needle in places where the holes won't show, then use it to slice without disturbing the skin. Great magic trick.

^ I should'a mentioned that you move the needle back and forth (no thread). The needle itself easily cuts through a ripe banana. You can feel the inside of the peel as you do it. With a little practice, you can do it under the breakfast table with any ol' banana. It works best if you don't do special hey-look-at-my-magic-banana any patter, but just open the banana and dump the slices on your cereal as you're talking normally and someone's looking at you.

Take comfort, Rodge, in the fact that Bill Clinton also had a bent banana.

I've seen this useful and durable product unfairly maligned for years.
I eat exactly ½ banana/day. So I can't buy a bunch without freezing them. But my smoothie blender can't cope with big chucks of frozen fruit.
Shopping day is stressful enough. I'm usually boiling a load of eggs, butchering a big lump of meat, and fermenting a gallon of yogurt. On top of that, bagging 60+ banana slices is too much.
So I halve them longitudinally into slices thin enough to break into bits when frozen. Which becomes another daily mess. I think this product would improve my quality of life. - 7/11/13, 2:26 PM

Jeezus Helly, loosen up. Go on a meat only diet, and start drinking copious quantities of gin.

I didn't know you could freeze a banana and use it over! Wow, no more buying green bananas. Really?
