Motel 6, Mishawaka

EVER stay in a terrible hotel? My worst was a hotel in Bombay (now Mumbai). The sheet had stuck to the mattress. I made the mistake of peeling a corner back. At once, hundreds of ants escaped. I did not pay the bill. This 4Chan member had an experience in Motel 6, Mishawaka, Indiana

These pics were taken at 3AM on a rainy night in Sept. 2013. Checked in after a 15-hour drive and was greeted with the grossest room ever. Left after 40 minutes to pitch a tent in the rain, and have not received a refund or any satisfactory action. Will never again trust Motel 6, and will make sure as many people as possible see these photos.

The TV remote control was enough to send me scurrying.  Is the Motel 6 chain still around?  Yes.  Yes it is, and so is Mishawaka #4412.  Since the above review was posted 25th, September,2013(yesterday), I'd say somebody Motel6 must be a lair.

We stayed in a pit on Tybee Island once. We slept in our clothes on top of the spread. We had a bunch of leftovers from a seafood dinner. No refridgerator. We pulled back a corner of the paneling in the closet and dumped it there.

Hotel Schirmann, Amsterdam. Drug center + death trap + gay B&D by-the-hour. Had booked it sight unseen for the last night of a trip through Benelux with my wife, as it is walking distance to the train to Schipol. Vile, filthy, pricey and almost always the last available hotel room in the city. Glad we packed our own silk sleeping sacks! Nowadays it seems to be called the "A-Train" and has slightly better reviews.

Back in 1961, between Christmas and New Years Day,I, along with a bunch of guys I worked with in oil field trucking, stayed at the old Home on the Range Motel in Home on the Range (now Jeffrey City) Wyoming. The motel was three dorm-like buildings arranged in U-shape around a central building that had the only toilets and showers that were similar to a high school gym locker room. The beds had a permanent deep sag, somewhat like a hammock, the rooms were overly warm, even in the dead of winter. The wind blew hard all night and in the morning we put our feet into a snow drift running from the door to the wall opposite.

The last time I was through Jeffrey City, the place was thankfully gone. Jeffrey City is about 90 miles east of Lander on the road to Muddy Gap and Rawlins.

Albuquerque NM Motel 6 - major dump, beds not meant for sleeping.
I've seen classier hot pillow joints.

This guys experience experience for sure.
We've used Greek bathrooms that were a hole in the floor with wall splatter for days, another where the sheets weren't changed nor the bed made and mosquitoes ruled the night. And a USA room that smelled of urine and had mice running about in the night. That never happens anymore. We've become very selective.

More selective = money can buy happiness. Or at least a nice room.

All these reasons are why I tow my bedroom behind my truck.

My folks came to visit once, way back when. They decided to stay at a motel6. We went out to dinner. On coming back to their room, My Dad discovered THE MANAGER burglarizing their stuff. His excuse was he was evicting a deadbeat and got the wrong room number. He was the guy that rented them the room!
