RECYCLED TANKS

I admire their ingenuity, but at the same time imagine we'd do the same thing,  given the opportunity.  Except.  Except the EPA (still a greater threat to the USA than them Congs ever were) would declare them hazardous material and order them  ground up and stored in sealed barrels in  some salt mine. And make the manufacturer pay for it. Am I right?

Yeah, they did really creative stuff with the artillery rounds, mortar rounds, and grenades that the ARVNs passed on to them, too. Fast as we supplied the SVN army, they handed it off to the VC and NVA, who used it to kill and maim Americans. Then, when the war was over, the SVN politicos and military brass, having earned millions doing stuff as described above, bailed out to places where they had easy access to their Swiss bank accounts.

That was a really funny joke on us vets, wasn't it? I'm still laughing over it.

I once met a guy in about 1972 who claimed to be a supply sergeant. He showed me a picture of his "hooch mamma" bare breasted and bragged about selling army supplies including jeeps on the black market that he knew ended up in the hands of the Viet Cong. I was eighteen and that was the first time I considered murder. It's a God damned world out there.

After WWII, drop tanks were made into a lot of things.

That makes me think of John McCain. I hear HBO is going to make a series about his life. They are calling it "Breaking Dim."
