Racists Attack Trader Joes

I'd seen an earlier story claiming the neighborhood residents wanted the store but the Portland race hustlers threw in so many obscene gimmidats and called so many names that TJ's told them to stick it where the sun don't shine.
It would have failed anyway so TJ's dodged a bullet.

"“increase the desirability of the neighborhood,” for “non-oppressed populations”", said the fella standing in front of a well-attended press event having stopped a major company from creating jobs in his neighborhood....
oppressed I do not think that word means what you think it means.
Nevertheless I am amazed that they would not leap at the opportunity to struggle through clusters of hipster d-tools to reach randomly unavailable products from China and other turd-world countries.

People in a position of power or influence just haaaaate change and other threats to their monopolies.

Just in case you were a teensy bit gob smacked, I can help.
This comes from a one-horse African racist group trying to make a name for itself and attract more funding. So they accomplished their mission.
Trying to shake down another national chain store — with demands for African-only housing and African-only employment, and the glossary of African-only racist code words — is simply the process of growing their brand. - 2/8/14, 1:50 PM

Just speaking for myself. If I lived in Portland, and I wouldn't, the last place I would go to shop is in a predominately black area/neighborhood. It's not racist, it would be common sense for self preservation. Likewise, I wouldn't be moving into any such neighborhood for the purpose of being close to Trader Joes for the same reason. A quarter million dollar home will be worth half that amount in 10 years. Not to mention, that permanent residence in such an area only increases the odds of self demise over a random visit to...a grocery store?

BTW: the neighborhood is just under 25% black. The center would have been constructed by a black-owned company. Residents of the neighborhood wanted the development.
Avel Gordly lives in SW Portland, not in this NE neighborhood - and in fact, none of the aspiring professional agitators live in the 'hood. And yes, I lived for a few years in that neighborhood.
Gordly's Goons managed to shoot down a project years in the making because RAAACE. - 2/8/14, 7:09 PM

Fair enough. BUT... From this day forward, I do not want to hear ONE F&**ING WORD about discrimination, segregation, or any of that other race-hustling whingeing from that lot. They can live in their rat-infested slums if they're so afraid of "gentrification." But they really, really, REALLY need to STFU.

"From this day forward..."
It ain't gonna happen. They will not shut up. Besides who cares what they want? The only way to save what's left of our major cities is undisguised and unrepentant Whiteification. Let's call it what it is. It's moving White people in and Black people out before it's too late. Portland of course is fighting this. All the liberal led cities are fighting this.

Next they're going to want their own drinking fountains.

They found the time to protest against Trader Joe’s by taking a break from complaining about the shortage of decent markets to shop in because the racist white run corporations won't build in the black ghetto.
