Clayton Lockett, a four-time felon sentenced to death for shooting 19-year-old Stephanie Neiman with a sawed-off shotgun and watching as two accomplices buried her alive in rural Kay County in 1999 after Neiman and a friend arrived at a home the men were robbing, suffered for 10 minutes when his lethal cocktail was buggered by ironic deus ex machina . ..."Oklahoma inmate dies after execution is botched"...
Botched? I don't understand...the scumbag suffered and died.
Sounds like it went off exactly as it should have. - 4/30/14, 8:54 AM

Hal: Okay, boys, what in the hell happened?
Paul Edgecomb: An execution. A successful one.
Hal: How in the name of Christ can you call that a success?
Paul Edgecomb: Eduard Delacroix is dead.

Compared to hanging or the electric chair, that sounds like a day at the spa.

Especially compared to being blasted with a shotgun and then burried alive.....

In my humble opinion, the convicted felon should be only allowed to select his or her method of death from the following: firing squad, hanging or guillotine. I guess consideration should also be possible if crucifixion or drawing and quartering were requested.

This is one of those crimes that, if I were Emperor, would be published with the old Persian punishment of "the boats". Take him 2-3 days to die, make his passing more consistent with what he inflicted on that poor girl.

I don't get the whole humane execution idea...
Why do executions have to be humane - we as a society have decided that you are too despicable to live and so we're going to kill you. Why do we have to be nice about it?
Lets get biblical about it - an eye for an eye - you shoot a girl with a shotgun and assist in burying her alive - we shoot you with a shot gun and bury you alive.
You shoot someone - firing squad.
You stab someone to death - you get stabbed to death.
You rape some kid and kill them in the process - you get raped to death. Ok, we may have some logistics to consider on that one... - 5/2/14, 10:59 AM
