I have a hard time believing this. These two assholes are headed for Hawaii. Where they can suck down mai tai's and count the cash. Mostly on the taxpayers dime.

Never underestimate the Chicago Effect on Illinois politics. Even though Kirk is more of a Truman Democrat than an actual Republican, by Chicago standards he's Ronald Reagan. (And Chicago voters -- including the dead ones -- account for most of the electorate.)
So any Democrat in Illinois starts off with a solid advantage.
The Downstaters and suburban Illinois voters would vote against an Obama, but that ain't enough. (Think Hillary Clinton in the New York senate race... same thing.)
The only good thing is that the financial future of Illinois (and Chicago) is bleak, so she'd be like the senator from Detroit.

If she runs, she will win. The parasites and leaches of society will see to that.

I agree with Kim that Michelle would be the Kwame Kilpatric (star of the most current American Greed, I might add) of the Senate.
Even as a freshman Senator, though, she would be the go-to Senator for Sunday morning talk shows (as a counterpoint to John McCain). - 6/6/14, 5:18 PM

If she she'd likely win since people of Illinois would stupidly buy into argument that they'd be racist if they didn't vote for a black ex-first "lady" since a white first "lady" got to play senator.

That's OK, Geo - they'll live in HI and DC most of the year, just stopping by the Land of Lincoln long enough to establish residency...
