Self defense trumps bad law

What?  You're not an Islamophobe?  Are you quite daft?

A story like this one, bereft of detail and in the BBC version, of any indication other than his name that Abdul Rahman Benhammedi may have been up to Islamic jihad activity, is utterly routine and unremarkable. Abdul Rahman Benhammedi is one of thousands in the U.K. who are interested in waging jihad and up to it in one way or another; his case will come and go and is unlikely to be much noted or long remembered. Britain has, in other words, grown accustomed to this sort of thing. A certain level of terror in their lives is going to be the lot of Britons from now on, and most of them are just fine with that; after all, their government and media tells them that it is preferable to committing “Islamophobia.”

“Manchester man, 20, charged with terrorism offence,” BBC, July 11, 2014:

A 20-year-old man has been charged with a terrorism offence .... [Jihad Watch cont]

Would you be shocked if this story was datelined Los Angeles ... ?  I thought so.  The Crusades have been given a bad rap; theirs was a prescient and noble cause.
