We have devolved to the point where indentifiable groups have rights but business is a government granted privilege. My favorite bumper sticker 'Make welfare as hard to get as a building permit'.

By 2000 Most Citizens Of Western Civilization Are Fools
Our civilization has been declining since the late Eighteenth century (see "A Study Of History" by Professor Arnold Toynbee), which means that since then the majority of citizens of western civilization have been selfish — for selfishness is the influence that rejects moral restraint, along with its associated beliefs. In place of the guide of tradition the selfish rely upon feelings to recognise right from wrong and fact from fancy. Now, after more than two centuries of discarding and reversing traditions, most citizens are fools who can neither tell right from wrong nor fact from fancy.

The only problem with Hobby Lobby's arguments was that the drugs they objected to are not abortifacients.
But never let facts get in the way of beliefs.

No, the problem is that in 50 years or so we have gone from forcing business to serve blacks to accepting that government makes ALL decisions concerning said business.

Political correctness is communist propaganda writ small. In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, nor to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better.
When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is to co-operate with evil, and in some small way to become evil oneself. One's standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.
