Personally, I like the flexibility and tang of the pejorative, "jackass."
Even the imagery fits. - 1/30/15, 11:37 AM

No, not Ed Schultz -- ERIC Schultz, Deputy White House Secretary filling in for Josh Earnest yesterday and getting his tongue wrapped all around his eye teeth so that he couldn't see WTF he was saying.
He's prob'ly not a bad guy, just a young man who hasn't quite got over being a fargin liberal.
Ed Schultz is an irredeemable asshole. Beyond that I won't even waste words on him. - 1/30/15, 1:22 PM

The creep is indeed a bête noir, a dabbler, even after 6 years of on-the-job training. He’s a trifler, a stagnant neophyte, a still-rank amateur, a business buffoon, a diplomatic dud, and a domestic debacle.
Aside from the standard descriptors I’ve used on him for several years now, such as arrogant, incompetent, unqualified, inept, intransigent, ineligible, and all those, he’s also pompous, pretentious, insolent, vengeful, bombastic, obdurate, disdainful, and downright supercilious.
He’s a proselyte, a dilettante, a jerk, and a klutz. He’s a liar, a menace, and a Muslim dressed up in taqiyyah.
"
And those are his GOOD qualities.

Add 'traitor' to that notable list.

One small point: I believe the proper term is "jackanapes" not "Jackanape."
Despite the seeming plural, it is actually not. - 1/30/15, 1:42 PM

Yeah, I looked that up one time a coupla months ago when I used it in a comment somewhere. Found at least two references saying that either is acceptable.
The singular is more or less archaic, or "old-timey" as stated in the Urban Dictionary. Another site (which I can't remember, said that the secondary meaning, "domesticated or tamed monkey," is generally singular whereas the plural is almost always taken to me an annoying asshole.
I decided to go with annoying monkey, heavy on the monkey. - 1/30/15, 2:17 PM

The current elites problem is that they are forcing themselves to lie and believe those lies is that they are being fed lies that are so outrageous that when the repeat them, usually with embellishments, that the ones who told them the lie mock them for believing and repeating the lie.

Let's not fail to include "malignant narcissist".
All-in-all, however, we tend to fall back on old reliable terms like "fucking scumbag".
