.50 Cal BMG Wowser

The Big Bopper

The GECAL 50, officially designated by the United States military as the GAU-19/A,
is an electrically driven Gatling gun that fires the .50 BMG (12.7×99mm) cartridge.

I'd really like to hear  a way high-deaf soundtrack that doesn't sound like it's shooting paper clips.  The second thing is, we'll never be able to use it.  Obama will use an ExOrd to make .50 BMG rounds illegal (except for use by the EPA swat team.)

Aside:  this is why ISIS are trying so hard to recruit Ameican terorists.

"High-deaf"? A kinda cute pun, or just illiteracy?

No Phil - it's the only way you can listen to Obama. You have to be either high or deaf.

Looks like a Humvee can lug enough ammo to cover about a minute of sustained fire. Better make that minute count.

The only time I ever fired the 50 cal MG of the Vietnam era, it was mounted on a six-by, a pretty substantial truck. The recoil had that truck really rocking. They must have devised a way to eliminate most of the recoil, because the Humvee isn't moving very much.

pretty pics of the sender, but where's the pics of the receiving end of the salvo?

Gotta have both to show it works.

If you look closely at the beginning where it is firing off of a truck you can see the gun set back a few inches when it first fires. That's the sign of a recoil and vibration absorbing mount. Guessing the slots in the barrel connector shroud also serve as a muzzle brake? IIRC a six barrel Gatling maxes out around 6000 round per minute and three barrel version at 3000 rounds. They may run it a bit slower to reduce thrust effect and maximize ammo efficiency?
I still think the 2nd amendment should cover crew served weapons.
It would make summer camps much more fun.

This would certainly make my commute go faster!

What makes you think the 2nd Amendment doesn't apply to crew-served weapons?

Impressive...but can it handle the squirrel problem I have in my backyard?

I believe the 2nd amendment applies to crew served weapons but you have the BATFarts using their "destructive devices" ruling cock blocking them...except for themselves of course.

" squirrel problem"?
The eight 50 cal in the nose of the Douglas A-26 solved the Simba cannibals problem in the Congo. Spraying Patrice Lumumba's columns
was just like holding a garden hose on them, as told by a CIA contractor...
Few survivors...Tabarnak indeed...
