TERPS ARE BEST!

Res Ipsa Loquitur                                                                                                  WHAT A WEEKEND!!!

Not only did the Terps win the BIG 10 football title Saturday, demolishing MSU52-6 (and finishing the season 10-1), but the men won the NCAA soccer title; the Terps women hoopsters beat UConn 92-77;  and Terps men are picked to win the NCAA Hoops.  What a year.  USA USA USA.  What a country!
The sports savvy among you will of course know that this is mostly a bunch of crap, but readers who don't care about sports will leave believing that Maryland sports is preeminent.  Today's  truth is what you believe.  It's why we are doomed, so fuckit.

Can't we all just self-identify as champs? I hate using the loser locker room.

Ron in Ohio Sez:

And then ya woke up, right Rog?

To the reality of what every "plantation sports" fan must face from time to time. I have a bunch of questions geared towards the so-called White collegiate sport's fan:

How did your "plantation team's" field hands do this season?

Did they excel on the playing field and keep out of jail off of the field?

Have ya' memorized all of your favorite player's unpronounceable-made-up names?

Did ya' watch and cheer thru to all of their monkey-dances and related simian antics?

Do you White people even know the names of the White players on "your" team? (Except for most team's quarterback) You really should, there aren't that many. Or do the majority of you merely "identify as black"?

My biggest question is - Why in the hell do ya' really care?

Now, to be honest, I channel surfed a bit Saturday, out of habit and nostalgia I suppose, to see how some of the games were going. I wondered about Florida, I wondered about North Carolina and I wondered about Michigan State. But then - I quickly changed channels!

Truthfully, I couldn't stand to watch the simian antics of the players (Of every team) especially after each play, when they went into their jungle routines, no matter which team was winning - I quickly changed channels!

Following the incessant time-outs I could not stomach watching the parade of commercials that are obviously geared towards an audience well-below my IQ level and towards that of the loyal "plantation sports" fan - I quickly changed channels!

Tuning-in at half time or after a game to get the scores was only like watching another failed SNL sketch. The semaphore signaling style of the low-IQ sports anal-ists was too stupid to take serious and too ludicrous to even call comedy - I quickly changed channels!

So I'm really wondering - Why do the majority of White Americans really watch this crap? Is their watching a further explanation for the moral decay of America? If so, that explains why - I quickly change channels!

Can it be that we really have that many more P-C correct Liberals in America (Closet Lib-O's) than we are aware of? Perhaps it's their covert backlash to making fun of Redneck's loving WWF wrestling. Which, when it comes on - I quickly change channels!

I really can't figure-out our country's fascination with dumb, incoherent, black athletes. I mean, if you're a White, native born, American - Why should you care about what happens to teams mostly made-up with simian throw-backs that you cannot relate to? Those are some of the reasons why - I quickly change channels!

And afterwards, even though the game is history, the loyal "plantation sports" fan will still sit through an hour or so of adulating, low-IQ, sports anal-ists' inane questions to those same incoherent, English as a second language, field hands. Their ridiculous antics on the field are only exceeded by their attempts to put together a lucid answer - At this point, I don't even bother going to that channel for I know the outcome - It's always the same - "If it wuzzent fo' football, I wudn't be playing football today!"

B-T-W - Who won? And who really cares?

Wow, how do I follow Ron... I was just going to suggest to Rodger now that you have a decent coach and recruiter coming in, you may start to make some noise in football. I'm still pissed Maryland lost to UNC in bball. I have way too many of those low-iq UNC fans around me so whereas I may not care about UNC, I hate them with a passion as much as I hate Duke. Their fans have that effect.

Lol. I like that you can't post a single sports related topic now without a rant about how stupid sports are, Rodge.

"How did your "plantation team's" field hands do this season?"

Not particularly well, unfortunately.

"Did they excel on the playing field and keep out of jail off of the field?"

They struggled a bit but I don't recall any of them going to jail.

"Have ya' memorized all of your favorite player's unpronounceable-made-up names?"

Most complicated name on my team is a white lineman - Jake Eldrenkamp. Not really sure that most of the players can help their name, though, after 18+ years.

"Did ya' watch and cheer thru to all of their monkey-dances and related simian antics?"

I'm not a big fan of showboating. I watched and cheered through the touchdowns, though.

"Do you White people even know the names of the White players on "your" team? (Except for most team's quarterback) You really should, there aren't that many. Or do the majority of you merely "identify as black"?"

Tons of white players on my team. But I sort of dig the meritocracy of football. If there are more black players it's because they're stronger and faster than the available white ones. And I don't identify as black, as I'm not black.

"My biggest question is - Why in the hell do ya' really care?"

I enjoy watching competition between great athletes, and the strategies thought out by the coaching staff the week preceding a game come to fruition, or fail miserably. I love the thrill of watching my team win a game, and must say I'm even a bit fond of the gut punch of defeat, and the promise of the next year.

Hope that helps. Unless that racist rant was rhetorical :-p.

Did ANYONE read comment #3?

Haha, yes. But aren't you guys ranked in the top ten in the NCAA? That means the season is young and there is plenty of heartbreak ahead.

As for CFB, with what, two wins, I thought you really had MSU right where you wanted them for that game.

Bwahahaha.

Of course I read it. I was just suggesting that with Durkin, you may get a good team in there. Don't know if they will get playoff able, but bowl games a plenty should be do-able.

Sort of unrelated Rodger, I don't remember if you've discussed it before -- why the Redskins? I know you liked Gibbs, but why not the Ravens when they returned, or the Bears?
