I've been on the Cruz bandwagon since the beginning, but I could easily migrate to Trump in a heartbeat. I'm afraid that if/when Cruz gets the nomination the establishment gopE's will go after something fierce. Will he have the money to fight them off? If Trump is the nominee, he will and hits back twice as hard.
I've said for a while now that Cruz and Trump have shook on a deal a while ago. I can easily see them joining up with each other and taking on the establishment.

In that case, why do Cruz refuse to say he would deport illegal aliens from the United States? (Because he wont)

Like Ann 1047, I am a solid Cruz fan. I believe that, unlike another first term Senator who shall remain nameless - what the hell, Mullah Obama - he will faithfully adhere to The Constitution. He won't be issuing executive decrees by the handful in order to bypass the Congress just because he wants what he wants and to hell with the American people.
Also, I absolutely believe that the primary reason the "establishment" Republicans (RINOs?) want to destroy Trump's run for the Presidency is that they can't control him like they would if Jeb Bush or Ben Carson go the nomination, and like they did when John McRino ran 7 years ago. And like George Soros is doing with Mullah Obama.

Trump will just be another narcissist in charge who will spend his term in office defending against and attacking his naysayers, just as Clinton and Obama have done.
As for his "promises" - tomorrow is just another day in life in front of a mirror.
About his future accomplishments as president, Trump will not have any such highlights. - 12/1/15, 3:00 PM

Probably because Cruz is smart enough to know and realize that "nobody" {including Trump} is going to pull off a modern day Eisenhower, nobody. The aclu, demoCrap party, every lawyer with a license, the Chamber of Commerce and the gopE will be lined up in front of every Court across the Country getting "Stays" on it.
Besides that, they are a significant part of our total economy, if it was done too fast it would send the economy into a tailspin and a deep recession. If, however the current laws are enforced {E-Verify, a Border Fence, Fines for Employers, Prosecution for ID Theft, No Social Benefits, Felons deported or jailed, etc., etc.} it could be pulled off over a few years and setup a Reagan second term landslide.

Trump named Ted Cruz as his preferred VP candidate a while back when asked by Laura Ingraham.
http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/260492-trump-names-cruz-when-asked-about-vp-spot
There are a number of good things about this.
1) It must greatly demoralize the GOPe that Trump shows no sign of willingness to compromise with them about the VP slot, as Reagan did with Bush 41.
2) Cruz would be an ideal attacker for Trump to deploy against Mrs. Clinton. There is no better controversialist on the political scene today. Cruz is smarter than them, a great debater and is absolutely fearless. He would be a great help to Trump.
3) Were Trump to follow Reagan, there would be a potential conservative VP successor, unlike Bush 41.
Since Reagan, I can't think of any presidential election when i have done other than vote against the greater evil, never for anybody. 2016 may be different. Trump/Cruz 2016. - 12/1/15, 5:04 PM

"Self deportation" could work, if we simply turned off the welfare teat. That's what's drawing them here in the first place. A single, paltry US welfare check is more money than they see back home in a year.

Trump was always Democrat and pro-abortion. Only reason he would change now is to make a farce out of the process. Politics is a dirty business.
Ted Cruz is only one I would vote for.

I think Geo is right. And I believe Cruz won't say he would deport them all, because, unlike so many others, he is averse to blatant lying. I'm sure he lies sometimes, all of us do, but I don't think lying is second nature to Cruz.
He's always done as he said he'd do in his senatorial campaign, without regard to popularity among the establishment pols.

I'm not sure if I'm more afraid of the idea of Trump winning the nomination and losing the election, or winning both.

This observation by Trump is the best thing I've seen from the American side in decades. Take out the families! It's the only thing that works against terrorists. The terrorists have already committed their lives to die or go to prison. Their families support them, and are often compensated when their terrorist kid dies. Religious clerics support them in terrorism, unlike Christian or Jewish clerics. When you catch or kill a terrorist, wipe out the family as well. Do it just a few times, and families will be less willing to let their kids die for Allah. At last an American gets it. Unlike Bush, Clinton, and Obama, who fight wars the way liberals always have.

Hear, hear, Skoonj!
This makes perfect sense. The Israelis do it by bulldozing the homes of terrorists' families, but to be truly effective it can be taken even further.
Since time immemorial the greatest deterrent to doing harm is the vendetta, the certain knowledge that vengeance will be visited not only upon you but upon your family.
Or, put another way, we need to "go Keyser Soze on their ass"! - 12/3/15, 12:13 AM

Yup! That's how you do muslims:
"He lets the last Hungarian go. He waits until his wife and kids are in the ground and then he goes after the rest of the mob. He kills their kids, he kills their wives, he kills their parents and their parents' friends. He burns down the houses they live in and the stores they work in, he kills people that owe them money. And like that he was gone. Underground. Nobody has ever seen him since. He becomes a myth, a spook story that criminals tell their kids at night. "Rat on your pop, and Keyser Soze will get you." And no-one ever really believes." - 12/3/15, 12:43 PM
