The Pennsylvania Democrat plans to meet with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community leaders in Pittsburgh on Monday to discuss "steps the United States government must take immediately to address safety concerns across the country from commonsense gun laws to ongoing acts of hate," according to a statement from Casey's office.
Members of Congress on both sides of the aisle offered their condolences and expressed outrage at the attacks.

  • Republicans tended to cite the need to boost counterterrorism efforts
  • Democrats called on Congress to act to prevent gun violence.
....
Casey, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said in a statement that the attack highlighted the need to protect Americans from terrorists and address gun violence. The Orlando attack is the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.

"While we are still learning about the shooter's motivation, this is an act of terror and yet another mass shooting in our nation," Casey said. "It is also an attack on the LGBT community."

End Twatage
This reeks of rank  oportunism, not to mention stupidity

"Senator, we need to get out there on this PDQ. Here's a draft memo we can get to Roll Call, like right now!"

"Great Bob, but get something in there that addresses the impact on the LGBT, LGBTQ, LGBTQA, TBLG and Gender Queer Tranny communities."

WTF?  Islam demands that homosexuals be thrown off a minaret as religious principle.  Duh.

If we look back at how we got gay marriage in every state, we can be sure of one thing, homosexual issues will cut through the US Constitution like a hot knife through butter. -Anymouse
