Monty Python meets Game of Thrones

cinema à la carte

Do You Like ‘Game of Thrones’ ...
But Wish It Were Hilarious?
When to watch: Now, on Netflix.

Norsemen

This six-part English-language Norwegian comedy is set in 790 in a Viking village, and it’s like a supremely filthy and ridiculous “Parks and Recreation” or “Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” obsessed with the little social frictions of a small town.

It’s also a satire of the “grimey olden days” prestige drama. There’s a lot of scatalogical, sexual and gross-out humor, so it’s not for the sensitive, but it’s also surprisingly endearing. There’s so much to poke fun at in shows like “Vikings” and “Game of Thrones,” and “Norsemen” makes the most of it. [Cuzzin Ricky]

I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds and looks promising.  Here's a sample

That concept's so crazy, it might just work.

It's really funny. Amazing that it's taken so long for people here to pick up on it.
