WIND RIVER

People are always asking; "Say, Rodge .."
.

RODGE: We're looking to watch a movie tonight that stars a bunch if unknowns in what is the best movie made in 2017. Got any hints?

Pedro from Omaha

Wind River

Whoa, Pedro.  Here it is!  A little gritty, but, hell yes!

You're welcome

We watched this as well. Entertaining; worth the time. And yes, a little gritty.

We thought the acting all around was top notch. MoSup was desperate to find a “season two”.

"Wind River"? Unknown actors? With Jeremy Renner, who was Hawkeye in Thor and Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron? And with Elizabeth Olsen, who was in Godzilla and who was the Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Avengers: Infinity War? The sister of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen? Those unknowns?

You really gotta get out more, Roge. Let France go for a day or two. Not even the French can get in trouble in less than a day.

*giggles nervously* ....right?

OMG, I can't imagine how I missed those beauties

I thought Godzilla was a darned good movie, and Avengers was one of the best movies released that year. Avengers Infinity War is definitely the best movie so far this year.

Jeremy Renner was also in The Hurt Locker. I remember that you had something to say about it when it came out, but I don't remember what it was you said about it. It was critical of America in Iraq, so I don't think it was flattering, but I could be wrong about that. He was also in one of the worst movies I've ever seen, 28 Weeks Later, the sequel to 28 Days Later, which was also one of the worst movies I've ever seen. According to IMDB, he was also in 2 Tom Cruise Mission Impossible movies, so I didn't see them. I've wanted to see another movie he was in, Arrival, but I haven't been motivated for it, yet.

Olsen was in a remake of Oldboy, but other than that and the Avengers movies, nothing that really stands out as something I might have watched.

...gonna have to follow your lead more often, Rodger.

A good movie.
I can't say I "enjoyed" it, because of the subject matter, but a good movie none the less.
Found myself "moved" by it.
I believe it was a combination of the attitudes portrayed by Renners character and the, dare I say, "haunting" soundtrack.
...still trying to process....

Excellent recommendation, Your Highness.

Once Hollywood releases, "Hollywood! (Nuke Us Until We Glow, It's The Only Way To Be Sure)," I'll maybe start enabling them again.
