Calling the Squaw Warren

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.
On July 2, Facebook’s indefatigable legions of Hate Robots censored a post as “hate speech” because it dared to contain a passage from the Declaration of Independence:
The three words everyone zeroed in on were “merciless Indian savages.” The only thing inaccurate in the term “merciless Indian savages” is the word “Indian,” but facts don’t matter in an era where moral outrage is forever on the warpath.

My direct ancestor, Indian Billy Ice, was kidnapped (after his mother, infant sister, and brother's fiancee were slaughtered) by Indians. He wasn't returned until the treaty after Pontaic's War. To take someone by force and without consent, and keep them against their will for many years, forcing them to work for you, is the essence of SLAVERY.

That some (including one of Billy's sisters) stayed on after being permitted to leave, is just an early example Stockholm Syndrome. Any children born of such slavery were conceived as an act of rape (since, as captives, they could not consent).

I'm a diehard - yes, they were savages. We exiled them to places far from us only after years of trying to live peaceably among them - and failing.
