AMAZON and WaPost owner Jeff Bezos is the biggest threat to our survival as free nation ... period.

  • Amazon is reportedly planning to launch a new grocery-store chain.
  • The new chain is expected to be cheaper than Whole Foods and sell a wider assortment of goods.
  • It could become a major threat to traditional grocery stores, including WalmartKroger, and Aldi.

Amazon's purchase of Whole Foods in 2017 sent shock waves through the grocery industry and hammered the stocks of traditional grocery stores.

Eighteen months later, Whole Foods stores don't look much different.

Prices were a little cheaper for a period of time, then rose again. The stores started offering some new services, including curbside pickup and delivery, but grocery stores such as Walmart and Kroger were already far ahead of Amazon in rolling out those options.

For a while, it seemed that initial speculation around Amazon's impact on the grocery industry was overblown.

Good to know *whom* to boycott *before* they even open.

Just because you have the money doesn't mean you know anything about the retail grocery industry. Buying the buildings doesn't buy you the talent or the experience that groups like Kroger, Albertson's/Safeway and Aldi already have.

They ruined our local Whole Foods.
Sure, it used to be stupid-expensive, but the produce was fresh and varied, the bakery was great , and the meats and cheeses were quality and quantity.

Now there's. coupla overpriced "vegan" chocolate cakes [??!?], three bruised apples and a banana, yellow *and* white cheddar, and I won't go within smelling distance of the meat counter.

And the prices for what they don't have are the same as everywhere else in town.

so.... No.
