I remember telling a kid who asked , "What does polling a hog mean? , " it means you take a young pig shove a pole up his ass and hold him in the air so he can eat the high green apples." I was surprised no one threw rocks at me but just giggled.

Even the slaughter of pigs is pretty inhumane. You want to get all the blood out so you stab it with a hollow pointed tube and the pig will bleed out. Hence the expression: "Squealing like a stuck pig."
