I have to admit he's a good professor as far as covering course material in a clear manner, but his class policy is also very strict.”

Wow, there's an actual American still teaching at UNC (Wilmington)?!?  Well, when you attend high schools like this, as so many do today,  Obama becomes a centerist and Ronald Reagan Atilla the Hun. Northside Independent School District plans to track students next year on two of its campuses using technology implanted in their student identification cards in a trial that could eventually include all 112 of its schools and all of its nearly 100,000 students.

District officials said the Radio Frequency Identification System (RFID) tags would improve safety by allowing them to locate students — and count them more accurately at the beginning of the school day to help offset cuts in state funding, which is partly based on attendance.

And this is in Texas for chrisake.  San Antonio must be in one of those counties where Lyndon Johnson received 118% of the vote.  If I was writing a novel, members of the school board would be given rides on government drones which would be quickly shot down by Judge Napolitano's band of patriots.  It would be fiction of course, because in real life we'll go on thanking the people who strip us of all freedom in exchange for free Band-Aids. And it would be unlawful too, of course.

Russia's Great Famine and Mr. Hoover

The little-known story of the American effort to relieve starvation in the new Soviet Russia in 1921, The Great Famine is a documentary about the worst natural disaster in Europe since the Black Plague in the Middle Ages. Five million Soviet citizens died. Half a world away, Americans responded with a massive two-year relief campaign, championed by Herbert Hoover, director of the American Relief Administration.

My dad told me that Catholics were sort of happy when FDR beat Al Smith in 1932.  Had he won, the first Catholic president would have been remembered for the Great Depression.  Instead, Herbert Hoover,  who took office on March 4, 1929, and in eight months somehow caused the  money markets crash that sent the world into a depression, took the blame.  That's how the history was taught anyhow.

I watched American Experience: The Great Famine last night.  I have no remembrance of ever hearing this story before. It stands on its own as an example of how Lafayette's prediction that "some day America will save the world" was unfolding.  It's also maddening film to watch, but once started, watch it you will (watching on NetFlix is best). You'll perhaps catch some insight into why this story failed to achieve "taught American history" status.  It's called the the commie influence over the American media, and educrats, even then.  In any event, I think you'll be happy you watched.

As an aside, this review of Thinker, Traitor, Editor, Spy  (Michael Straight) is good insight into the New Republic Magazine, a Hoover agonist in the video.

Last night I watched part one of a surprisingly good Military Channel documentary about dropping the first A-Bombs on Japan.  Towards the end, the late Col. Paul Tibbets (who flew the Enola Gay) made this disdainful comment about the school system.

"Our high schools know nothing of this history.  I was once introduced to  students as " a man who fought in world war eleven."

In the past, a gunmaker's name on a pen and a drawing of a space weapon have been enough to bring down school officials' wrath on students; now it's a piece of pizza.

At an elementary school in Smyrna, Tenn., student Nicholas Taylor, 10, has been ordered to spend lunches for the rest of the semester at the lunchroom's "silent table" because he allegedly picked up a piece of pizza and waved it around like a gun. [the full pie]


Is there anything I can add?  Just this. 

This is just another of hundreds, I mean thousands millions  of extant examples of what we face,  moving on.  We can't kill all of them, nor would we want to, since many of are loved ones, or just innocent victims of Liberal educrats.  This, then, is another argument for why we must expel a number of states from this Union (you know which ones), and let them flop about governing themselves without taking down the entire house.  So it's not secession we want; it's expulsion!  Lincoln would be okay with that.
